Richard is the Interim Managing Director of ResiliencyH2O Partners. For 19 years, Richard was the CEO of New Economy Strategy, delivering the highest quality consulting, technical assistance, and analysis for 180 regional civic-business-government entities. He was the Senior Lead Advisor on the formation of three statewide and two federal multi-million dollar investment programs, and launched eleven incubator and accelerator programs on four continents. His executive management skills have been tested in senior positions of federal departments, academic-research institutions, corporate and growth-stage companies, and leading management consulting firms.
Richard has advised a variety of business sectors across energy, water, biosciences, digital media, industrial production to emerging technology companies as well as Fortune 500 companies. He is a skilled business solutions architect and strategy expert helping senior executives, boards, and investors optimize processes, innovate core drivers, and grow intelligently. Over the course of his career, Richard has managed a $3 million start-up business consultancy and a $400 million federal agency, generated over $340 million in grants and contracts, raised $28 million for advocacy-political campaigns, and designed alternative resource projects in excess of $60 milion. He has delivered 300+ keynote addresses, moderated-panels, and facilitated sessions with a focus on business and innovation.
Richard received a B.S. in Urban Government and Public Policy from the University of Texas at Austin, completed course work in Business Management (non-degree) from the University of Houston, and participated in Harvard University’s Kennedy School Federal Senior Executive one-week program.
